Data Analyzer

Introduction

Data Analyzer is a bit different to other programmes in Sunflower for Science. You use it to make tables and graphs from data generated in the other programmes.

Data Analyzer

Use it with:

  • Solids, Liquids and Gases to show how a cooling curve relates to the behavior of particles. Take it further by investigating how the properties of a substance affect the shape of its cooling curve.
  • Rates of Reaction to show how concentration changes during a reaction. Take it further by investigating how the conditions of a reaction affect its rate.
  • Diffusion to show how concentrations gradually even out. Take it further by investigating how temperature affects how quickly this happens.
  • Dissolving to show how concentration changes as a solute dissolves. Take it further by investigating what happens when you heat, cool or evaporate your solution.
  • Earth in Space to find trends in the properties of the planets.
  • Enzymes to show how rate of reaction is affected by temperature. Take it further by comparing two reactions at the same time.
  • Forces to show how distance changes with time. Take it further by seeing how acceleration decreases with velocity.
  • Nuclear Physics to show half life graphs. Take it further by comparing the graphs for different amounts of the same substances.
  • Osmosis to show the concentration changes inside a potato. Take it further by investigating how osmosis is affected by different concentrations in the test tube.
  • Periodic Table to show trends in the properties of the elements. Take it further by comparing trends in different groups.
  • Predator Prey to show cyclical trends in populations. Take it further by investigating how sunlight levels affect the model.
  • Photosynthesis to show how light intensity affects the rate of photosynthesis. Take it further by investigating the effects of temperature and frequency of light.
