Introduction

Atoms and Ions is a model of the atom to show animated atoms or shell diagrams.

Atoms and Ions

You’ll use it to:

  • Explain about the numbers and positions of protons, neutrons and electrons in the atom.
  • Show how particles in the nucleus determine the isotope, atomic number and mass number.
  • Show how electrons are arranged in atoms and how we show this in shell diagrams.
  • Demonstrate how ions have stable electron arrangements Show how scientists use symbols to represent atoms and ions.
