August’s Free Programme

This month’s free programme is Dissolving. This programme:

• Explains what happens at a particle level when a substance dissolves – or crystallizes
• Shows how some substances are more soluble than others
• Explains about saturated and unsaturated solutions
• Explores which factors affect solubility and the rate of dissolving
• Demonstrates how to calculate concentration or make up solutions.

Exhibiting in Basel

Our many international customers can see the latest version of Sunflower for Science at the World Didac exhibition in Basel 29 – 31 October. Click here for more details of the exhibition.

We’ll be showing our award-winning science software running in Arabic, Dutch, English, Estonian, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish, Icelandic and Welsh. If you’re interested in translating Sunflower for Science into another language, we can also show you how to do this at the exhibition.

And don’t worry if you can’t make Basel because we can also catch up at:

Funding for ICT resources

If you work in a maintained school in England then the bad news is E-Learning Credits run out at the end of August. Hint hint: if you’ve any left, spend them or the Government takes the money back forever!

The good news is this year there is a new grant for ICT spending called Harnessing Technology. The grant is being distributed through your local authority so ask your senior management team and if they don’t know about it, then ask your local authority.

You can spend your Harnessing Technology grant on any ICT hardware or software including curriculum content, such as Sunflower for Science.
